Yesterday, Microsoft presented its Xbox Games Showcase, and with it came a lot of excitement. While showing off some great games, such as Ninja Gaiden 4 and Grounded 2, they also revealed a new handheld dubbed the Xbox ROG Ally. However, fans of Gears of War were eagerly awaiting more news on the beloved series.
A trailer was shown for the upcoming Gears of War: Reloaded, with a release date of August 26, 2025, and details that include the following
- Multiplatform (Xbox, PC, Steam, PS5)
- Cross-play
- Cross progression
- 4K Textures
- 60 FPS Campaign
- 120 FPS Multiplayer
- HDR
- Splitscreen Co-op
On all Gears of War socials, it was revealed that pre-orders of Reloaded would have access to the back-to-back beta weekends starting this Friday. Existing members of Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and owners of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition (digital) will receive automatic access to the beta.
While, unfortunately, no trailer or gameplay from Gears of War E-Day was shown, CEO of Microsoft Gaming, Phil Spencer, revealed that several new games, including E-Day, will be released in 2026 in time for Xbox's 25th anniversary.
