hello world!

PAX Aus 2023 is only a week away, and just when you thought there couldn’t be any more announcements, PAX continues to deliver. Not only have they updated the PAX app to be up to date with all the latest PAX Aus 2023 maps and schedules, but they’ve also revealed all of the PAX Aus 2023 exclusive merch.  As if that wasn’t enough to get you frothing, they’ve also announced some more games and special guests, making this already-packed weekend even better. There’s a heap to look forward to, so let’s dive into this latest info dump!

Maps, Schedules, and Merch

Let’s get the party started. (PAX)

If you were feeling a little stressed over the amount of stuff to do at PAX Aus, the PAX app has you covered. The app has been updated to include all the information you need about the event. Everything from the expo hall map to the panel schedule, you can organise your weekend any way you want. You can also create your schedule with reminders so you don’t miss out on any of the exciting panels. They’ve also revealed this year’s exclusive PAX Aus merchandise. There’s everything from Shirts to pins and everything in between. You’ll have to be quick because many items are expected to sell out fast.

More Panels and Games

Time to punch some faces. (Bandai Namco)

If you thought that all of the panels and games were already announced, you’d be sorely mistaken. A new Fireside chat has been added to this packed line-up, and it looks to be one of the most interesting announced yet! This panel will include Takuma Endo, Director of Tenchu and President of Acquire Studios, and Bethesda’s Creative & Game Directors, John Johanas and Rich Lambert. They’ll give us a new behind-the-scenes look at some of Bethesda’s most beloved games, Elder Scrolls Online and Hi-Fi Rush. Dungeons & Dragons-inspired series ‘1 For All’ from Deerstalker Pictures will have a panel to answer all your questions about the comedy series. Thanks to Bandai Namco, Tekken 8 will also be playable for the first time in Australia in the Console Freeplay. Thanks to The PAX Adventurer’s Guild, there will even be a chance to try some LARP-ing every day.

What We Are Excited For

Nothing like a chill gaming session. (PAX)

Tom: With PAX so close now, I’m overflowing with excitement. I’m keen to try out Super Mario Bros. Wonder and Sonic Superstars, which look like excellent co-op fun. The newly announced Tekken 8 also seems fun, even if my only experience with the series is Tekken Tag Tournament 2 for the Wii U. A few panels have caught my eye, and I think I’ll be staying late each day to see them all. I’m also looking forward to trying out some new tabletop games, which have become a highlight for me in recent years. I definitely want to check out the Cardfight!! Vanguard stall this year, seeing as I enjoyed trying the game last year and want to get better at it. I think PAX Aus 2023 will be a blast, and it can’t come soon enough.

Rohan: As this is my first ever PAX, it’s fair to say I’ve picked a pretty good one as my first go around. There are too many to list off the top of my head, so I’m hitting you with some of my most anticipated items for PAX:

  • Trying VR for the first time and trying not to puke everywhere.
  • Getting to see the awesome panels lined up.
  • Checking out Broken Roads by Drop Bear Bytes.
  • Getting some hands-on with some Table Top Gaming
  • Spending time on the show floor just chatting with all the great indie developers.
  • Scoring some of the awesome merch that’s been announced.
  • Attending the Tax Panel with BDO (nothing sexier than a good tax discussion).

That’s all you need to know about this latest PAX Aus 2023 info dump. Be sure to keep it locked to Couch Soup, as we’ll be covering the event daily.
