hello world!

It's that time of year, and here are the big ones to look out for this holiday season. December plays host to a number of indie games that deserve a view and, of course, the big one, Cyberpunk 2077, provided it does not get delayed… again.

December's highlights

Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition - December 1 (PS5, Xbox)

This updated version of Devil May Cry 5 has been available digitally since the launch of the new consoles. If you fancy yourself the physical disc version of the game it's available now. This improved edition adds faster frame rates, ray tracing, improved resolution, faster load times, and Vergil as a playable character. (This is the physical release)

Empire of Sin - December 1 (PS4, Switch, Xbox One, PC)

Empire of Sin is a strategy and tactics game set during 1920s Chicago where players assume the role of a mafia boss during prohibition and build up their ranks. Choose 1 of 14 different bosses to build and manage your underworld business.

Immortals Fenyx Rising - December 3 (PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox)

Immortals Fenix Rising is an action adventure game where you play as Fenyx, a new demigod, who sets out in a beautiful open world to save the rest of the gods from a powerful curse. With clear inspiration from Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey this one looks to be an epic adventure!

Spirit of the North - December 4 (PS5)

Spirit of the North is a 3rd-person adventure game where players assume the role of a red fox who finds himself as the guardian of the Northern Lights, who is a female spirit fox. Spirit of the North has been well received on the Switch and PC, and it's now coming to PS5.

Call of the Sea - December 7 (Xbox)

Call of the Sea is a first-person adventure game set in the 1930s. Players will follow the story of Norah as she searches for her missing husband, played by Cissy Jones and featuring Yuri Lowenthal. This is the debut game form Out of the Blue studio coming to Xbox and PC, and it will be available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers.

John Wick Hex - December 8 (PS4, Switch, Xbox)

John Wick Hex is a fast-paced strategy game packed with action where players assume the role of the legendary hitman himself. Make quick decisions and weigh the consequences for every move as you think your way through each situation like John Wick.

Cyberpunk 2077 - December 10 - (PS4, Xbox, PC)

One of the most anticipated games of the generation, Cyberpunk 2077 is the next game from CD Projekt Red, their first major release since The Witcher 3 in 2015. Players will be able to fully customize their mercenary outlaw on the hunt through Night City for a cybernetic implant that is said to be the key to immortality. This first-person RPG features melee, gun combat, and other tricks to take down your foes in this massive new game.

Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond - December 11th (Oculus Rift VR)

Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond is the first game in the series built from the ground up in VR for the Oculus. Developed by Respawn Entertainment, the studio behind TitanFall, Apex Legends, and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, this looks to be an action packed experience set during World War II. Players will virtually step into the boots of an OSS Agent in war torn Europe trying to put an end to the conflict and experience WWII like never before. The Medal of Honor franchise has featured the voice acting talent of Steve Blum.

Overcooked! All You Can Eat - December 11th (PS5, Xbox Series X|S)

Get ready for all the zany chaos as you try to cook as many orders as you can with up to three friends in Overcooked! All You Can Eat, a collection of both Overcooked 1 and 2. Plus, all the DLC content for both games, as well as the updated engine from Overcooked 2, and will feature cross platform multiplayer for the first time! Can you handle the heat?

Override 2 Super Mech League - December 22nd (PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox)

Override 2 is a giant robot brawler where players choose from a roster of 20 giant mechs to battle for the championship. Featuring a single-player and multiplayer coop campaign, the game lets you pilot your giant robot in the hottest form of entertainment featuring ex-defenders of earth. Fans of the PS2 era of Godzilla arena battlers should take notice of this one.

While we wait for Guillermo Del Toro's latest hit adaptation, Frankenstein, another Frankenstein film is on the horizon... Bride! directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal. Anyone else confused as to why we aren't seeing much marketing for this movie? With a stacked cast and an artsy Bonnie & Clyde-like plot, I feel like we aren't talking enough […]

Get ready! Emily in Rome is almost here! In addition to the teaser trailer, new photos were released showcasing a more in-depth perspective of what to expect. Rome never looked so good! It's safe to say Season 5 will bring all the romance and drama everyone loves, and probably lots of pasta.

Wow! These. Are. Fire! I can't believe this release is in a month! Coleman Domingo as the Lion is peak casting. Everyone ate. No questions about it. From Boq's angry energy to Glinda's pink glow, I love how uniquely each one reflects the character and who they are perfectly.

Adam Driver reveals he was developing a new Star Wars movie, ‘THE HUNT FOR BEN SOLO’ with Steven Soderbergh. Was set after ‘The Rise of Skywalker’. Lucasfilm loved the idea, but Disney said no — “They didn’t see how Ben Solo was alive”. Yet "somehow Palpatine returned" is literally the plot of Rise of Skywalker. […]

Glen Schofield says he's more optimistic about a sequel to Dead Space 3 since the sale of EA. I'm not sure, dude. The head honcho Wilson is still in charge there, right? Even with the new owners, it seems like a long shot...
