hello world!

There are so many things in life we need to do in order to level up. We must always make sure that we are improving ourselves in one way or another. Sitting around for too long and being content with where we are simply will not work. The good thing is the brain will always improve and become more intelligent if you are productive. There are so many ways we can make this happen. It’s extremely easy to become depressed and negative about ourselves when we are not productive, so it’s wise to ensure that we get our act together.

In this post, we are going to be talking about gaming and what it can do to our levels of intelligence. It’s not just our academic intelligence that can get a boost as it can improve so many areas of our thinking. It can act as mental health therapy as well as excitement and stimulation if we need it. People often look at video games and think they might be somewhat of a negative and pointless exercise. The truth is quite the opposite, however. If you are curious, here are just a few ways it can improve our intellect

It’s Not Just About Entertainment

Of course, everybody plays video games in order to get away from their life and in order to focus on something else. It’s not just about relaxing and entertaining, however, because you can pick up plenty of skills along the way. Most games require you to think critically whenever you make a decision and you aren’t just pressing buttons in the hope that something positive happens. This is especially poignant when you are playing online and in a competitive arena. You are actively looking to outwit an opponent in one way or another.

Decision-Making Aspects

When it comes to intelligence levels, decision-making plays a huge part in so many aspects. You don’t always have to make the right decision, and you can afford to make a few mistakes, but you will always improve and come to more mature conclusions with experience. Video games allow you to analyze things in real-time and come to the right end. Whether you are playing a free mahjong game or a first-person shooter, there is always a particular puzzle to solve or an avenue to go down.

Memory Improvement And Recollection

A huge part of intelligence is being able to remember certain things and recall them at significant times. If you can do this, you will be somebody with a high level of competence. This is obviously something that can be trained in many different ways. Video games and other flash games allow us to learn this kind of thing quite easily. Even basic games mean we have to remember certain buttons and certain jobs. We don’t even realize we are learning new things because we are too busy partaking in the game at hand.

Juggling Jobs And Multitasking

For a lot of people, the idea of multitasking is somewhat of a negative because it can hinder productivity. It’s a good thing to add to your arsenal, however. Modern video games often have multiple tasks for you to complete and it’s a great way of storing information in your mind. A lot of the time, they add an extra bit of pressure to complete these things – which can be used in other areas of life. Of course, real life isn’t like the video games, but these kinds of simulations can really help.

Social Skills Get A Boost

With a lot of games in this day and age, an element of teamwork is necessary. When you work together with others like this, your social ability increases. You’ll become a lot more confident regarding the way you deliver your message to another person. You will be more concise and you will feel better about the things you say. You may mumble a lot less, and you may quietly enhance your vocabulary. This might then give you more confidence to improve your social skills face-to-face in other situations.

Mindfulness And A Form Of Therapy

Whether you believe it or not, video games can be extremely cathartic and a genuine form of therapy. It doesn’t matter what kind of game you are playing, you can feel relaxed when doing so. It can allow you to escape the real world for a while and can teach you to focus on the present. It doesn’t get rid of any issues permanently, but it can help you to reset and put you in a good mindset to deal with whatever is ahead of you.
