Elden Ring DLC is Too Hard? Pfft! Mikkaa Just Beat it Twice… Simultaneously!

hello world!

Didn’t I see rhetoric circulating saying Elden Ring’s DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, was too hard? I distinctly remember around a month ago, just after the launch of FromSoftware’s one and only DLC for George R. R. Martin and Hidetaka Miyazaki’s collaboration, some people were complaining about the difficulty spike.

It’s not like they were totally wrong. The enemies hit harder and are more resistant to your damage output, meaning your level circa-150 character takes hits like Samuel L. Jackson in Unbreakable and hits as hard as my 7-year-old nephew. I mean, he hits hard, but I wouldn’t put him in the ring with Mike Tyson

I digress. It’s challenging, but it’s proven to be achievable using a new DLC-only levelling mechanic and a sh*t-ton of practice fighting new, interesting, and sometimes seemingly unfair bosses. But even then, it can be a struggle.

So why would you make it harder for yourself?

Enter MissMikkaa.

Does not compute

A Soulslike veteran and challenge run extraordinaire, MissMikkaa is a Swedish Twitch streamer who has risen in popularity over the last few years. She’s famous for completing various games in increasingly absurd yet impressive ways. She’s smashed Elden Ring within an inch of its life until that kid in The Simpsons screams, “Stop! It’s already dead!”

Among her accolades are completing Elden Ring with Dance pad with a level 1 character, defeating all Elden Ring bosses on the highest New Game Plus level (NG +7) with a level 1 character, completing the game with one hand, and then one finger. HOW?!?!

But perhaps her biggest achievement is destroying the base game while playing simultaneously on controller AND Dance Pad. The concentration and multi-tasking skills are unbelievable. I saw her take down Malenia, the boss known to make even the best players cry, and it was mesmerizing.

However, could Mikkaa replicate this for Shadow of the Erdtree with its noticeable difficulty spike?

Well, there’s a reason I’m writing this article.

With only 685 deaths (238 of which were solely on the final boss), Miss Mikka has triumphed, making the DLC her b*tch once more! I cannot fathom how it’s even possible, especially with the amount of chat engagement she does. It took me seven years, numerous temper tantrums, and long breaks to complete Bloodborne. I’m not a God gamer.

Mikkaa is.

Mikkaa, I salute you. You’re a maniac for doing stuff like this, but it’s so very impressive. I can’t wait to see what you do next.

SPOILERS FOR THE DLC

Here’s the amazing moment where the final DLC boss was felled simultaneously on a controller and dance pad.

I don't know about you, but I'm not paying $360 a year to play Call of Duty each year. Sure, if I cared about Doom or Forza or Flight Sim, it'd be worth it but... WOOF

Rumi, Mira, and Zoey - HUNTR/X! - are coming to Fortnite! I have never played Fortnite, nor do I realistically ever intend to, but this type of collab is one of the first ones to make me seriously consider it. I'm worried about Tom...

First off let me congratulate Liam McIntyre (friend of Couch Soup) finally being revealed as the voice of Logan/Wolverine. After watching the epic trailer I think we can all agree Insomniac made the right casting call. Also, damn this game looks violent. Also also, eff you guys for making us wait till fall of 2026.
