Cancer is a bastard of a thing. It can happen to anyone, and to this day, we still don’t have a definitive cure. That’s why it’s so important that cancer research gets the proper funding it needs so we can find cures, or at least improve treatments for people who are suffering. Now that’s pretty doom and gloom, and you’re probably wondering what you can do to help. Well, luckily for you, there’s an event going on right now that you can donate to that is not only raising money for cancer research, but also where you might win some cool prizes. Game On Cancer has brought back Superhero Streamers for the fourth year in a row, and this is everything you need to know about this great cause.
What Is Superhero Streamers?
Superhero Streamers is a charity event created by Cure Cancer’s Game On Cancer community four years ago. The event involves various Australian content creators/streamers signing up to raise money for various types of cancer research. All funds will be donated this year to support ovarian and bowel cancer research. Creators will be raising money through stream donations, fundraising events, and other content until the 31st of May.
Some of the big names participating this year are SkillUp, Stephanie Benixson, Back Pocket, and Loserfruit, among many other Australian creators. They will be live throughout the event and, when certain milestones are met, it will unlock special prizes for you and the community to go into the running to win! These prizes include lanyards, pins, headsets, and more! Alongside these amazing creators, ASUS ROG will be sponsoring the event, matching donations, and supplying some of those very special prizes.
How To Get Involved
This is all well and dandy, but how do you get involved? The easiest way to contribute is to go and watch your favourite Aussie streamer who is participating and donate some money to the cause. If you want to go further, you can sign up to join the event and stream yourself. Click on this link, go through the steps, and then you’re off to the races. You can go solo or join a team to maximise research gains! But don’t worry if you can’t afford to donate or can’t stream, even just sharing the event on social media will go a long way in helping to get the word out about this event.
Superhero Streamers has been going since the beginning of April and will wrap up on the 31st of May. Even though it’s ending soon, you still have time to promote, donate, or stream to support a worthwhile cause. Let’s all rally behind these Superhero Streamers and raise enough money to kick cancer’s ass!
