hello world!

Attack on Titan has been a juggernaut in the anime and manga space for over a decade. The series created by Hajime Isayama has been a fan favourite, and it’s easy to see why. The storytelling, the characters, and the world-building are all best in class. That’s not even mentioning the phenomenal artwork in both the manga and anime, which will leave you stunned. The manga concluded a few years ago, and the anime is close to finally wrapping up with Attack on Titan: The Final Season Part 3 The Final Chapters (don’t worry about it). With the end of the anime in sight, you might be curious to jump in and start this series but are thinking it’s too late to get on this hype train. Worry not; there’s never been a better time to start enjoying Attack on Titan.

It’s Perfect for Beginners

This can only end well. (Wit/Kodansha/Isayama)

Many people’s first experience with anime over the past decade has been Attack on Titan, and it’s easy to see why. The story is easy to understand and follow along, even if you haven’t watched a single episode of anime before. Humanity lives inside the walls, and the Titans roam the world outside. A young boy named Eren wants to explore that outside world, even knowing the dangers that lie beyond. Then it all goes to shit, but I won’t say any more. The story of Attack on Titan is, at its core, easy to understand. You have Eren and his friends fighting against the Titans to keep humanity safe. You don’t need to understand any more than that to get started. And once you start watching, all the little details and plot twists will keep you coming back for more.

You Don’t Have to Wait Years for Content

A face only a mother could love. (Wit/Kodansha/Isayama)

If you’ve been watching the series since it started, you’ll remember the long, tedious wait between seasons one and two. Those long years were torture for us fans; having no new content after that season one cliffhanger is downright criminal. And when the series finally returned, it was only for ten episodes before leaving us once again. This has been the struggle of Attack on Titan anime-only fans (cause reading is for nerds). But newcomers will never have this problem. With the final part of the story coming out any day now, you can binge the series in its entirety without waiting a day. I’m jealous of those who don’t have to suffer the long wait, but I would never wish it upon them.

It’s One of the Best Series Around

A girl’s gotta eat. (Wit/Kodansha/Isayama)

People debate for hours on end about whether Attack on Titan is one of the best anime. Some people say it’s overrated and claim it doesn’t belong in the best anime conversation. I and many others disagree with this statement because the series is just that good. Not only is the story easy to get into, but there are layers upon layers of foreshadowing and themes that make you think about everything. The characters are also unforgettable; you’re sure to find a favourite (Sasha and Reiner, for me). The presentation is in a class of its own, with the most intense chase scene I’ve ever seen. This isn’t even mentioning the Titans’ unique designs that look cool and downright horrifying. The series in both manga and anime is a feast for your eyeballs. Oh, and that soundtrack slaps hard.

You may think it’s too late to get into Attack on Titan, but you’re wrong. It’s never been a better time to jump into this spectacular series. The easy-to-understand story and being able to binge it all at once streamline the viewing experience. It also helps that it’s one of the best series around. So go ahead and dive right into Attack on Titan. Who knows, maybe you’ll become an anime fan like me.

Are you going to check out Attack on Titan? Have you already seen it? Did you enjoy it? Let us know in the comments where we can try to understand why the final season has three parts.
