AWA Unveils "Red Light" A Sensual Sci-fi Saga By Rising Star Sarah Cho

hello world!

AWA announced an upcoming graphic novel series written by up-and-coming Korean American writer Sarah Cho. Best known for her work on Hulu’s The Girl From Plainville and Amazon’s Them, this will be Cho’s first foray into the comic book space and one with an edgy and sexy look at the future.

Red Light will be an erotic thriller that explores the use of AI and how mankind will utilize it in a bleak and dark cyberpunk future akin to Battle Angel Alita. The notion of AI and what will happen when it becomes sentient is not new to science fiction. We all remember the Matrix and Terminator. Whereas most take a human versus the machine approach, Cho is taking things in a different direction and asking, “Can the AI save us from ourselves”?

The main character of Red Light is an advanced AI “companion” named Lacy whose sole existence is to please her client’s deepest desires. C’mon, you know that is inevitable and will be the first thing humans do with the technology. In this world, it is very common for AI to fill this “role,” but Lacy is different. She is the first of her kind programmed with empathy and can feel for others and their pain, But she also doesn’t want to be a sex slave anymore.

This series looks to be graphic in more ways than one, as there will be plenty of sex and violence! Warning for those adverse to it, but yay for us who like it that way!

For those who do not know, AWA (Artists, Writers, Artisans) is a creator-first publisher where artists, writers, and artisans can do their best work and retain ownership. Started in 2018, AWA has been praised as one of the most exciting publishers in the comic industry.

AWA’s RED LIGHT is written and created by writer Sarah Cho with art by Priscilla Petraites. The series is colored by Miroslav Mrva (WEREWOLF BY NIGHT) and lettered by Sal Cipriano (DETECTIVE COMICS), with covers by Jeff Dekal (THANOS) and variant covers by Frank Cho (X-MEN, FIGHT GIRLS). Issue #1 will be available Wednesday, November 1, both digitally and in stores wherever comic books are sold. For more information on the RED LIGHT Kickstarter and other stories, visit AWA Studios on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and AWAStudios.net.

Weirdly, going back to just Overwatch feels like it's bringing back the excitement for the hero shooter. I don't know about you guys, but I'm so interested in seeing what the Jetpack Cat plays like!

The full season 2 trailer dropped today, and it does not hold back on the Kaiju action. Also, it's good to see Kurt Russell in more of the prime action hero role vs the old man with love issues role he was slotted into in season 1. The trailer teases a Kong, Zilla, Tentacle Kaiju […]

Hmmmmm. I'm not sure about this, guys. Unless this is an alternate universe type of thing, I don't like Stranger Things having more intricate and special monsters in the off-screen times. Also, voice cast feels weird. I'm sure good. But weird.

As the old saying goes: Coke's what ya put up ya nose. Pepsi's what ya put in yer glass.  Truer now than ever was. And the Polar Bear finally knows it.

The one man fighting force who has taken down small town cops to entire armies, and most recently, the cartel is back as an origin story titled "John Rambo". One reason to get excited is that this is being directed by the visceral director of Sisu, which means this will and should be a rated […]
