hello world!

March is the month for Monsters. Not only are we getting a new Monster Hunter game exclusive to the Switch, but we’re also getting several Monster Truck games. I wonder if someone had a meeting about this? That being said, this month is on the lighter side as most major releases won’t be making an appearance till early summer.

March’s Highlights

Kill it with Fire – March 4th (PS4, Xbox, Switch)

Ever see a spider and think, “I need a flamethrower to kill that sucker”? Well, in Kill it with Fire, you can! This game is all about ending the creepy crawlies’ reign of terror with a slew of weapons in as many creative ways as possible.

Stubbs the Zombie: Rebel Without a Pulse – March 16th (PS4, Xbox, Switch)

The return of an Xbox classic remastered and available on all platforms. Stubbs the Zombie is looking to take over the world and you are going to help him build his undead army in this horror-comedy game about what life is like when you are dead.

Balan Wonderland – March 25th (PS4, PS5, Xbox, Switch, PC)

Balan Wonderland is a new IP from the creator of Sonic the Hedgehog, Yuji Naka. Balan is an action platformer in the vein of Mario Odyssey, but it’s hard to describe beyond that. From what I’ve gathered, your character can wear various costumes granting them different abilities to explore with. Early impressions of this one are mixed, but fear not. There is a demo available to play, so try before you buy!

It Takes Two – March 26th (PS4, Xbox. PC)

From the creator of A Way Out comes It Takes Two, a cooperative action-platformer that focuses on fun and unique gameplay intended for 2 players. It Takes Two looks like a fun and varied experience for friends and couples to enjoy together. I, for one, am all for the return of solid couch co-ops like this.

Monster Hunter Rise – March 26th (Switch)

What is certainly the biggest release of the month, Monster Hunter Rise is a Switch exclusive and the newest iteration in the popular Monster Hunter series. Rise adds new mobility features that introduce verticality and speed to the series, including a new mountable canine companion called the Palamute. Fans will certainly want to dive into this Ninja-themed version of the game; I know I will.
