This is so weird. Writing about something that you just played with or watched on TV? I mean, people are doing this for a living, really? I would rather be outside looking for treasures, solving some history puzzles, but you know… with the pandemic happening, I guess this will have to be enough for now. 

Nadine said this game is good. I wasn’t sure if I should believe her, but since I didn’t have anything better to do, I decided to play with it. I am not big on superhero things, you know. What we are already doing is pretty amazing to me, but still, no one calls me a superhero… I don’t think that’s fair for people, but whatever. 

This game is called Miles Morales, well, Marvel’s Spider-man: Miles Morales. Why do you have to stick Spider-man there, and wouldn’t he need, like, another name? To the best of my knowledge (and I have a lot of knowledge, trust me) Spider-man is already taken, so Miles should be called something like Spider-guy or Spider-dude, something like that. He is still a kid, after all. Wonderful kid though, I’ve got to put it out there. 

The beginning got me hooked pretty quickly if I am honest. I blame Nadine now because my eyes hurt from playing so much with this. The music is definitely something that surprised me: it gave a very strong atmosphere right from the start and in a way helped me to get to know the kid. I like that. I appreciate that. The first fight with the other Spidey was very enjoyable, and it did give me chills, even if I feel like I have no idea what I am doing most of the time. I am just blindly pushing the controller buttons like a maniac and yelling at my TV. Must be a fun sight. 

However, imagine my biggest surprise when I hear a very familiar voice, but see a rather different face pop up on my screen. I called Sam immediately after that part. Does he have a secret identity? And that name; Simon Krieger… how the hell did he come up with that? I am not sure if I like his plastic surgeon. He didn’t pick up the phone so as of right now my questions are unanswered. I am warning you, Sam Drake, if you are reading this and listened to the 15+ voice messages I left: I will find out what you’ve been up to! 

So, Miles… back to you kid. Those web thingies… I need them in my life. Imagine how much easier it would be for us to get into ancient tombs, or anywhere really if we could just swing on the web things. I am pretty sure I spent an hour just swinging around in Harlem. Because, why the hell not? It is very enjoyable and fun and a really quick and easy way to look around in the city. 

And the wall-climbing parts? I knew you could do that with Spidey (obviously) but I had a strange déjà vu while doing it. It reminds me of a friend of mine who I’m sure would enjoy this if he wouldn’t be a complete sucker when it comes to games.

The story, without going into any… what did Nadine say? What is it called? Oh yes, spoiler!… Spoiler territory, the story is amazing. I finished the game within 3 days with every side mission included in there, and I couldn’t be any happier with what I witnessed. Don’t tell anyone but I was NEAR tears at one point and, trust me, I don’t do tears. I think the only thing that I would say bothered me a bit was the repetitive nature of the fights and the side quests. That was something that already tired me in the previous game… yes, I did play that one as well… and while Miles’ fighting style is very different from Peter’s, it still felt a bit on the loop, especially when I went to stop random crimes around the city. Honestly? The amount of crimes happening in this city is ridiculously overwhelming, like, I definitely don’t want to live there. It’s not like I couldn’t take care of myself, but I imagine that the police would quickly take me away after the first gunfight. 

To finish this off, all I got to say is, “Well Done!” I would like to meet Miles one day; he could help us on our next adventure once this whole pandemic situation blows over. The kid is talented, and I do like him a lot. This is a Chloe-approved game. It will help pass the time under lockdown for sure.
